I waited in the dark surrounded by earth and stone.
The grass had long been dead here,
the tree's barren fingers twisted toward home.
My heart had grown cold, waiting as I was.
In the lonesome blackness of night, I longed for life I'd never known.
I often dreamt of lightness, the smell of it lingered on my skin.
I imagined how it's warmth would pour into me, drowning me within.

I wandered weary paths of doubt.
I've worn my feet to bleed, the staining blood of my own truth.
And yet, I dream.
The caressing lies of a promised end seduce my mind.
Climbing labyrinth, sing to me.
Sing of the lost girl under the barren tree.
Save me.
